Gwynedd Area Fundraiser

* Location: Mix of office work (Hafan Dewi Sant, Bangor), community-based work across Anglesey and Gwynedd, with up to one home-working day per week
* Hours: 35 hours per week.

Who we are:

St David's Hospice is a local charity providing specialist care for adults with life-limiting illnesses or in need of end-of-life care, as well as support for their families. Each year, we impact the lives of over 1,000 people across Conwy, Gwynedd, and Anglesey.

Our services include 24/7 care, Day Therapy Centres offering patient care and bereavement support, and Inpatient Units in Llandudno and Holyhead providing symptom control, respite, and end-of-life care.

About the role:

At St David's Hospice, we're dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to patients and their families when they need it most. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Community Fundraiser to inspire local people, groups, and organisations to get involved and support our vital work. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys engaging with people, building relationships, and creating innovative fundraising opportunities.

We are looking for someone who will:

* Develop and deliver a varied programme of community fundraising activities.
* Grow fundraising income by working with schools, local groups, businesses, and individuals.
* Organise and deliver Hospice-led community events, including planning, budgeting, publicity, and evaluation.
* Increase income from community collections, merchandise, and bag-packs.
* Represent the Hospice at events, cheque presentations, and community meetings.
* Provide excellent stewardship, ensuring all supporters feel valued and appreciated.
* Promote and cross-sell other areas of income generation such as the lottery, retail, and legacy giving.
* Act as an ambassador for the Hospice, raising awareness and inspiring community involvement.

To do the role you'll need:

Essential:

* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
* Understanding of the charitable sector.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Confident working with the public, with strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
* IT literate (Microsoft Office, email, social media).
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
* Willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Desirable:

* Fundraising or events qualification.
* Experience in community fundraising and/or event planning.
* Knowledge of the local community.
* Experience working with donor management systems.
* Ability to speak Welsh (written and spoken).
