We are looking for an experienced EDA / CAD engineer to join our growing Design Enablement function to improve and maintain Pragmatic’s growing EDA design environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
* Installation, configuration and maintenance of commercial EDA solutions for analogue and digital design such as toolsets provided by Cadence or Synopsys
* Configuration and use of grid computing / batch queuing systems or equivalent for high performance compute clusters
* A background and knowledge of UNIX system architecture, moderation, and management
This is an opportunity to join the fast growing Technology Platform team at Pragmatic and play a part in the expansion and development of an efficient and capable design platform for our technology and product design and development.
Key tasks
* Configuring, maintaining, and improving Pragmatic’s internal EDA design tools and flow.
* Interface to design teams, providing guidance and 1st line support for EDA tool setup and use.
* Improving automation and ensuring effective use of licenses and hardware alongside IT and finance teams
* Provide infrastructure for test and development of new PDKs, tools and features to support the release of foundry PDKs to external customers.
* Interfacing to external EDA vendors, managing relationship, license renewals, feedback etc..
* Create and maintain an EDA development roadmap, taking input from internal requirements as well as industry and vendor roadmaps
Qualifications and training
* Degree orPHD (Maths, Engineering, Computing) or equivalent experience
* A strong understanding of electronics and its core principles.
* A strong ability to solve technical problems with many different variables.
* A strong ability to work to tight deadlines and progress multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to work independently and part of a team.

Skills and experience
* Administration/Moderation experience working on a UNIX environment
* Experience with installation and configuration and use of commercial EDA software (Cadence, Siemens, Synopsys etc)

What would make you stand out?
* Python, Perl, Shell Scripting, Makefiles, etc
* Experience working on batch queuing systems (LSF, Oracle Grid etc)
* Experience working with revision and release control tools (Git, Perforce etc…)
* Working with silicon foundry PDK’s
