Description Key Accountabilities • To act as the main hub for all Airport Operational Information, collating all relevant information across the range of operational disciplines and systems and disseminating information accurately to ensure effective and timely operations are maintained. • To supervise, coordinate and affect the on-time aircraft turnaround process, in its entirety, for all scheduled aircraft movements at Cornwall Airport Newquay and liaise directly with all departments and staff necessary to achieve this objective. • To provide direct supervision and guidance to the Airside Team Leaders and support Airside Services Officers, to ensure effective allocation of resource to the commercial schedule and stakeholder activity where applicable. • Assist the Airside Duty Manager in completion or collation of administrative/personnel procedures and/or documentation of the Airside Services team, for example RTW, record of discussion and statement forms. • To produce or prepare all relevant aircraft load or flight planning information to achieve the objective above to include the production of accurate weight and balance load sheets in line with company, airline and IATA standards. • Maintain an effective but flexible stand plan and react to changing circumstances as appropriate. Ensure that all personnel and equipment are allocated correctly for the turnaround process or other operational task relating to airport stakeholders or customers. • Meet arriving aircraft allocated to them and liaise with the aircraft captain or cabin crew over all aspects of the aircraft turn-around process as necessary. Continuing that process to include clear communication with the gate agent to achieve an on-time departure of the aircraft. • To prepare flight planning, weather or NOTAM documentation for flight crews as required. • Ensure that all Ground Service Equipment (GSE) defects are reported through the airport fault reporting system and such equipment is removed from service • Training, Safety and Compliancy - Monitor and report on identified training needs to maintain staff currency as appropriate. To maintain compliancy the AC must collaborate with Airside Team leaders and ensure that the flight pack and aircraft turnaround audit schedule are completed in line with the weekly matrix as outlined by the Airside Duty Manager. • Instigate winter operations procedures, as appropriate, in accordance with instructions within the station Snow Plan. • Assist the ground Operations Manager when required by activating the Airport/Airline station emergency procedures and terminal evacuation procedures as published in the relevant manuals. • Carry out any other reasonable operational task requested by the Senior Management Team. Knowledge, skills and experience Essential: • Management/supervisory experience including the application of HR company policy and procedures • Extensive experience in an airport environment including Aircraft weight and balance and Airside operations • Working knowledge of IATA AHM, IGOM, CAA publications and airline GHMs • Experience in undertaking investigations and maintaining compliance with HASAW1974, CAP168 and a working knowledge of Safety Management systems • Good basic education standards to GCSE level. Must include English and Maths to Grade C and above • A confident approach in dealing with people at staff at all levels and strong dispute resolution skills. • The ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically at all levels of the organisation and with external organisations both orally and in writing • A practical knowledge and understanding of terminal operations covering Airside, Security and Passenger Services as well as a sound understanding of an organisations SMS program • Highly Motivated and enthusiastic with a flexible approach to succeed • Ability to remain calm, assertive and methodical in stressful situations Desirable: • Roster management • Assisting people with reduced mobility and hidden and other disabilities including CAP1228A and EC1107/2006 • Working knowledge of Aerodrome Manual, all Passenger Service and Airside working -related Manuals and Airport Station Emergency Procedures • Knowledge of Airline terms and conditions • Train the Trainer Certificate / National Occupational Standards qualification • NVQ 3 or equivalent in Ground Operations • IOSH managing safely or equivalent H&S qualification Our offer to you Working Hours: 30 hours per week Contract Type: Permanent Base: Cornwall Airport Newquay Working with us you will have an employee benefits package that includes: Generous pension scheme with employer contribution Employee discount scheme and wellbeing events Paid holiday Investment and support in your continuous training and development We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of all our service users, clients and customers.
