About the role
Sussexsport require enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to work on a rota basis during weekends at our busy reception located at the Sport Centre. Hours of work would be weekends 9-6pm.
The Sport centre is open both to the University and local community and therefore you will be expected to deal with a wide variety of enquiries both in person and over the telephone.
The post will involve duties such as taking bookings and memberships, using a computerised till system, telephone enquiries and cashing up.
About you
You should have excellent customer service skills and a friendly outgoing personality. Having the ability to work well as part of a team is essential.
About our Division
The Estates, Facilities and Commercial Services Division is vibrant and dynamic. We are continuously adapting to change and needs of our Students, Faculty, Visitors, and Permanent staff to deliver a great service. We can be seen around campus and we work behind-the-scenes to ensure an on-site positive experience for all. Over the last 5 years we have developed the East Slope, and are developing the West Slope: a mix of student housing and spaces for learning, socialising, and student wellbeing services. We are also involved in Sustainability Sussex. Our vision is clear and our strategic goal is for this University to be one of the most sustainable in the world.
Sussexsport is split between two sites on campus: The Sport Centre and the Falmer Sports Complex, approximately half a mile apart.
The Sport Centre houses two main fitness rooms, two sports halls for a large number of indoor sports, a dance studio/dojo, four glass-backed squash courts, a fitness room (including spin bikes) and a therapy room with a sports injury clinic and a wide range of complementary therapies.
The Falmer Sports Complex (FSC) is the location for our outdoor facilities and is home to six outdoor tennis courts, two rugby pitches, two football pitches, a cricket square, a full-size floodlit 3G pitch, a 3G training area and an artificial turf pitch and outdoor cricket nets. It also has a Strength and Conditioning room.
