PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £27,600 - £33,900 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Welsh Language Skills are desirable for this role.

BBC Extend

Purpose of the Role
This is an opportunity to be part of the BBC Sport Wales team covering sporting stories from across Wales. This role will involve managing and coordinating the BBC Sport Wales social media channels as well as producing content for them. You will cover sport in the country on a national and domestic basis and help shape the growth on these platforms.
We’re looking for an ambitious journalist who is keen to ensure the BBC remains at the heart of the local conversation.

Key Responsibilities
* Look after BBC Sport Wales’ social media channels from ideation through to publication.
* Apply knowledge of the latest social media trends in everyday work.
* Understand Welsh sport and broader sport, staying up to date with the latest stories.
* Edit short‑form video for the website and social media.
* Cover live sporting events and work in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Criteria
* Strong journalistic and editorial skills.
* In‑depth knowledge of social media platforms and latest trends.
* Ability to edit video and create platform‑specific content.
* In‑depth knowledge of Welsh sport and sport globally.
* Ability to create engaging copy for social media platforms.
Desirable
* Adobe Suite knowledge.
* Welsh language proficiency.
