HGV Technician – Wolverhampton – From £19 per hour – Full-Time (37.5 hours) – Temp to Perm

Pertemps Wolverhampton are recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for an experienced HGV Technician. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role on a temp to perm basis, offering a competitive hourly rate and long-term opportunity within a professional workshop environment.

Shift pattern: 07:00am – 16:30pm
Temp to perm contract
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles
2. Carry out diagnostics and fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems
3. Complete inspections in line with DVSA and company standards
4. Prepare vehicles for MOT and complete preventative maintenance
5. Ensure all work is documented accurately and efficiently
6. Adhere to health and safety procedures within the workshop
7. Work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
8. Liaise with supervisors and colleagues regarding vehicle status
Ideal Candidate:
9. Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
10. Recognised qualification in Vehicle Maintenance (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) preferred
11. Strong knowledge of HGV diagnostics, servicing and repairs
12. Ability to work independently and follow workshop procedures
13. Good attention to detail and time management skills
14. Class 1 or 2 HGV licence beneficial but not essential
