We have a fantastic opportunity within our award-winning kitchen for a Commis Chef to join our team. Level 2 Food Safety and experience of working a section within a fast-paced kitchen is essential to be considered for this role.

The Role

Working as part of the Kitchen Team, this position requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness.

The Commis Chef plays a vital role in assisting the Chef de Partie and supporting in the daily operations to ensure we are providing a positive dining experience for our guests.

Role Specification

* Assisting with the daily operations of the kitchen
* Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
* Assisting with the ordering and ensure that sufficient stock is maintained
* Ensuring all food served in the restaurant is at the standard required
* Ensuring all related food hygiene regulations are followed by yourself and the kitchen team
* Promoting and maintaining a high level of hygiene in the kitchen using cleaning schedules
* Ensuring the daily completion of food and fridge temperature sheets
* To have input, compile and design regular monthly menus using fresh ingredients

Personal Specification

Essentials

* Have previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry
* Hold a Level 2 Food Safety certificate
* Have a good understanding of food hygiene and quality standards
* Have the ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
* Have excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and be able to use all relevant guidelines

Desirables

* Have experience with large volume covers
* Have good interpersonal and communication skills
* Have Food Safety Training

Additional Information

* 45 hours per week
* Working 5 out of 7 days per week (including evening, weekends and bank holidays)
* Salary: 30,049.66
