English Teacher - SEN/SEMH Specialist School, EdEx – Education Recruitment
Are you a qualified teacher, or do you have experience teaching/supporting young people with SEN/SEMH? An Outstanding specialist school for pupils with SEN & SEMH needs are searching for an English Teacher to join them ASAP, or January at the latest. You will teach GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent to pupils in KS3 & KS4, with small class sizes of 6 maximum. Most students have ASD, and all of the students have ADHD or trauma/anxiety which can create challenging behaviour. However, all students benefit from a quiet, calm and purposeful learning environment, tailored, short, low-pressure lessons, therapeutic training and state-of-the-art facilities on beautiful grounds surrounded by greenery.
Responsibilities
* Teach English to KS3 & KS4 students, small classes (max 6).
* Deliver GCSE or Functional Skills equivalents.
* Create a quiet, calm, purposeful learning environment.
* Provide tailored, short, low-pressure lessons.
* Engage in weekly therapeutic training with the team.
Job Details
* Full Time, Permanent Contract
* Salary: £28,000 - £55,277 per annum, depending on experience & qualifications
* Start ASAP, or January 2026 at the latest
Candidate Specification
* Qualified Teacher with QTS/QTLS or unqualified candidates with relevant experience

* Confident behaviour management with empathetic, understanding nature
* Resilient, patient and kind; able to manage challenging days with rewarding outcomes
