Corporate Senior Associate (5+ PQE)
Location: London | Type: Full-time | Start Date: ASAP
About Avery Law
Avery Law is a modern boutique law firm built for growth. We advise ambitious founders, scaleups, corporates and investors through their key business milestones, from early funding and cross-border expansion to strategic acquisitions and exits.
Our work spans private M&A, venture capital, corporate structuring and commercial transactions. Increasingly, we support international acquirers on inbound UK deals, and founder-led companies preparing for high-stakes sales or strategic buyouts.
We bring deep legal expertise and a practical, responsive approach, making top-tier advice accessible, efficient and aligned with the pace of modern business. Whether advising on a multi-jurisdictional share sale or a fast-paced acquisition, we prioritise clarity, value and execution.
The Role
We are looking for a Corporate Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to join our growing team in London, with a focus on M&A transactions.
As part of a small but highly capable team, you will play a lead role in managing acquisitions, disposals and related structuring work, particularly acting for UK sellers and overseas acquirers. You will also take the lead on due diligence exercises, supervise junior lawyers, and work closely with the founding partners on strategy and growth.
If you are looking for a more agile, entrepreneurial role, away from big law or traditional structures, this is a rare opportunity to build something meaningful while working on high-quality transactions.
What You Will Be Doing
* Leading and advising on private M&A transactions (share and asset sales).
* Managing inbound cross-border acquisitions and UK corporate structuring for international clients.
* Running legal due diligence projects and coordinating inputs from across the team.
* Drafting and negotiating key documentation including SPAs, APAs and disclosure letters.
* Occasionally advising on venture capital transactions, particularly for repeat investor clients or portfolio companies.
* Collaborating with the team to improve workflows, templates and processes as we scale.
* Helping to develop junior team members and contribute to a supportive, high-performance culture.
What We Are Looking For
You will likely have:
* Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales with at least 5 years' PQE in corporate law.
* A strong track record running private M&A deals, ideally with experience acting for both sellers and buyers.
* Experience managing due diligence and transaction delivery with minimal supervision.
* Exposure to cross-border matters and working with international clients or local counsel.
* A commercial mindset and excellent drafting, communication and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to balance independence with strong collaboration and mentoring instincts.
* Interest in growing your personal network and helping shape the direction of the firm.
Why Join Us
We are building a law firm that puts people first – lawyers and clients alike. Here is what you can expect:
* Impactful work – Advise decision-makers on meaningful, complex transactions.
* Autonomy with support – Real influence over your role, clients and development path.
* Collaborative culture – Low ego, open communication and a strong sense of team.
* Wellbeing focus – Private healthcare, Classpass, pension, protected wellbeing time and more.
Compensation
* Competitive base salary based on experience.
* Annual performance bonus.
* Client origination commission and support for business development initiatives.
Interview Process
We keep it simple and respectful of your time:

2 - In-person interview (45–90 mins) – Deeper discussion about experience and goals.
3 - Short task (30–45 mins) – Practical exercise to see how you approach real-world issues.
