Mitigations Team Administration Officer, assessing eligibility of UC claimants for Welfare Support Payments (WSP). Dealing with Social Size Sector Criteria (SSSC) and Benefit Cap cases.
1. As an AO you will go through various Mitigation cases allocated to you by the EO1.
2. Your job is to process these cases and ensure that the most up to date information is held.
3. We deal with two types of payments SSSC and Benefit Cap, the first is SSSC (Social Sector Size Criteria) also known as the bedroom tax.
4. For SSSC we calculate the percentage of mitigation (14% or 25%) and how much the claimant’s bedroom tax will be. We process this all with reference to the UC build. We then complete appropriate SPT (Supplementary Payment Team) stencil, whether it’s an Initial Referral for a new claimant, or a Change of Circumstances on an existing claim. This stencil will then be checked by one of our EO2s and once correct will then be sent to SPT to be processed. The same process applies in relation to Benefit Cap cases.
