Job title: GenAI Architect

Location: London, UK

About the Job you are considering:

Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale generative AI solutions on AWS. Translate business problems into secure, scalable, production-grade AI systems using Amazon Bedrock, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, and cloud-native AWS services. Drive architecture standards, model orchestration, governance, observability, and operational excellence across the GenAI lifecycle while collaborating with engineering, security, compliance, and business stakeholders

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role:

1. Lead architecture and implementation of GenAI applications using AWS services, especially large language model capabilities such as Amazon Bedrock
2. Define reusable architecture patterns for model customization, prompt orchestration, retrieval pipelines, and agentic workflows
3. Design agentic AI systems incorporating tool use, workflow orchestration, memory management, and autonomous decision flows
4. Implement observability for prompts, model responses, vector retrieval quality, and agent execution workflows
5. Integrate GenAI capabilities into enterprise applications, APIs, workflow platforms, and data ecosystems
6. Work with security, risk, compliance, engineering, and business teams to enable LLMOps and AgenticOps capabilities - prompt lifecycle management, model observability, caching, evaluation and governance.
7. Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, model risk, auditability, data privacy, and regulatory requirements in highly regulated environments
8. Produce solution documentation, technical standards, and deployment approaches, and support delivery from concept through production.

Additional Responsibilities:

9. Architecture Governance
10. Establish reference architectures, reusable patterns, security standards, and engineering best practices for GenAI adoption across the organization.
11. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams implementing GenAI solutions.
12. AI Strategy Alignment
13. Partner with business and product stakeholders to identify high-value GenAI use cases and define measurable outcomes.
14. Vendor / Model Evaluation
15. Evaluate foundation models, embedding models, vector databases, and AI tooling for enterprise suitability.
16. Cost Optimization
17. Optimize inference cost, latency, throughput, and scalability across GenAI workloads.

Your Skills:

18. Experience designing cloud-native GenAI architectures using AWS services such as Bedrock, Lambda, SageMaker, OpenSearch, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, IAM, KMS, and CloudWatch
19. Knowledge of scalable, secure, event-driven, and distributed system architectures
20. Experience integrating structured and unstructured enterprise data sources
21. Experience with RAG, fine-tuning, model evaluation, data privacy, ethical AI, and cross-functional stakeholder management is expected
22. Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture, IAM, encryption, and secure AI deployment practices
23. Experience implementing AI governance, auditability, data privacy, and compliance controls
24. Banking or regulated-industry experience is highly relevant
25. Hands-on Python development experience for building GenAI applications, APIs, orchestration pipelines, and automation workflows is preferred
