We have a new opening for an NPD Process Technologist.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing product process expertise into the product launch process from concept to factory handover. To support NPD, Production and Engineering by being an expert in all factory processes, across both factories and driving the business forward with innovative ideas and improvements to current process.
An overview of the role responsibilities but not limited to
* To drive and support the product launch process; from NPD concept, through feasibility, trials, sign-off, ending with the factory handover post launch.
* In collaboration with the NPD Technologist brief, to plan trials, writing trial requests, carry out trials and writing detailed trial reports within the agreed process.
* To support the product development process by writing new equipment briefs in conjunction with the NPD Technologist for the projects team to recommend equipment solutions to support new launches
* To build effective relationships with all teams, especially NPD, Production, Engineering, Systems and Planning
* To work with production to deliver effective factory processes for launch, including process settings and documented ways of working, where necessary.
* To support the update of the Process Manuals for each factory, communicating all changes to NPD, Factory Process and Production.
* To support production and NPD in training factory operatives on new processes for trials and launches.
* To ensure all critical paths by customer are kept up to date on a daily basis and late actions are kept to a minimum.
* To ensure all project files are completed detailing the project costs, trials completed and final evaluation
* To ensure factory process setting are correct for launch and liaise with production and engineers to ensure all modifications are made for agreed deadlines
* To actively engage with factory personnel to build a relationship of trust and guidance
* To have a thorough knowledge of equipment capabilities and rates
* To attend Trade Shows and Conferences and feedback to the wider team.
* To perform any other task that is of a reasonable request in line with the Process and NPD department.
Candidates should have experience within an NPD/Production role with previous customer interaction. Experience of dealing with factory trials is key.
Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills with experience of training others on factory processes. Applicants considered will have undertaken Food Hygiene Training and be in possession of a Nutrition Degree or equivalent.
