Finance Apprentice
Salary: £23,493 per annum, plus a £2,000 South East allowance and a generous benefits package.
Contract: Training Contract/Fixed Term Appointment for 3 years.
Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week.
Location: Based at Culham, Oxfordshire (hybrid working).

As a Finance Apprentice, you will support us in providing high-quality service while learning the workings of a Finance Department.
Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, driven, and hardworking Finance Apprentice to join our Finance & Business Efficiency Team. The role involves a 6-month rotation across different financial activities to gain comprehensive understanding and experience, with potential career paths within a financial environment. You will develop your skills through hands-on experience and collaboration with colleagues.
Key Duties
* Assist with the preparation of accurate monthly and quarterly reports and forecasts.
* Support the annual budget setting process.
* Attend monthly and quarterly budget holder meetings.
* Participate in month-end processes, including preparing journals (accruals and prepayments).
* Conduct ad hoc financial data analysis.
* Assist with audit and annual report processes.
* Manage balance sheet control and reconciliation activities.
* Support the shared service team with supplier invoices and queries.
* Contribute to payroll support activities.
* Participate in audit sampling and staff expenses verification.
* Assist with billing, cash collection, and Treasury forecasting.
* Provide ad hoc support to the wider Finance team as needed.
Candidate Requirements
We seek someone with strong interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude. You should hold at least 5 GCSEs including Maths (minimum B or Grade 6) and English.
Training Provided
Support will be provided towards an Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship, with initial study towards AAT or other professional qualifications, depending on your current qualifications.
