We require a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our growing team of Clinical Psychologists, providing input to female adult mental health inpatient facilities within Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust. This position is based at the newly built Harbour acute inpatient unit, which opened in March 2015 and is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility equipped to the highest standards.
The post holder should have graduated with at least a 2:1 BSc and have experience working in an inpatient environment or have a specialist interest in working with adult females with complex emotional and relational needs. The role involves supporting the development of skills in working with females who self-harm, initially on Stevenson and Shakespeare wards at Harbour, with a supported period of 12 months. The successful applicant is expected to start as soon as possible and remain until September 2026. The role includes progressing via supported development to provide direct clinical interventions under supervision and supporting multidisciplinary teams using psychological theory. Clinical supervision will be provided by a locality consultant clinical psychologist lead.
