About the Role
As our Business Finance Manager, you will join our Finance leadership team and lead the management, maintenance and reconciliation of ledgers by the AP/AR team in line with management accounting timetables, and ensure treasury functions are performed to business guidelines. This role enables NPL operations by ensuring supplier invoices are paid on time and invoices to customers are raised. The role also oversees cash flow reporting and forecasts for internal and DSIT Treasury shared services. Accurate performance metrics should be produced to monitor and report on compliance and efficiency. The role ensures internal controls and anti-fraud practices are maintained to a high standard.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading the AP/AR team, driving performance and building a motivated, customer-focused, high-performing team.
* Provide technical expertise on accounting systems, payments and receipts to produce cash flow forecasting and reporting (up to 3 months) internally and externally.
* Accountable for month-end closure of accounts payable/receivable modules, ensuring reconciliations are maintained for accurate management accounts.
* Produce timely external performance reporting, including payment practices.
* Ensure effective banking arrangements are in place so the company can trade effectively.
* Ensure compliance with governance including quality, health, safety, security and environmental legislation, minimising risk and enhancing NPL’s reputation.
* Monitor and report on internal controls and fraud awareness to maintain a well-controlled workflow.
* Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers and stakeholders to support NPL’s mission and sustainability.
* Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers to ensure queries are dealt with efficiently.
About You
* You’ll be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, etc.).
* Experienced People Manager and leader of AP/AR teams.
* Demonstrable experience managing payment cycles and maintaining credit control and accounts receivable activity.
* Ability to engage with and communicate with stakeholders across the business.
* Enthusiasm for developing processes, reporting and controls under our new system.
