I am thrilled to be working with this leading contractor who is looking to strengthen their engineering team with a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
Due to the geography of the work, this role can either be based out of Bristol or Exeter with hybrid working available.
What’s it all about?
You will report directly to the Principal Engineer or Regional Discipline Lead, and your role will be to provide superior quality Engineering Design services to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts.
You will coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, taking into account health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards related to the contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Work according to procedures and processes to ensure the ongoing development of the department.
* Assist in developing, monitoring, and reviewing procedures and processes.
* Write, update, and monitor efficient procedures to ensure smooth department operations.
* Coordinate designs with all other disciplines, internal and external to the business.
* Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
* Maintain a personal development plan.
* Assist in supervising and developing staff.
* Ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
* Reduce waste from all departmental activities and ensure designs consider environmental issues.
Ideally, you have the following:
* Significant experience in delivering process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects.
* Understanding of water and sewage treatment principles.
* Membership of a professional institution, chartered or nearing chartership.
* Relevant discipline Engineering HND.
* Good general knowledge of water treatment aspects, including mechanical, process, electrical engineering, and project management.
