With offices across Europe, the UK, and other international financial centres, it manages in excess of USD 9.5 billion in assets, primarily in Catastrophe Bonds and other Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS).
The Role
The organisation is seeking an ESG Specialist on a 60% basis to strengthen ESG capabilities across the firm. The successful candidate will work closely with the Investment, Product, and Operations teams and contribute to the full ESG workstream. Responsibilities will include implementing the firm’s proprietary ESG framework, supporting product development initiatives, and overseeing ESG reporting obligations for both funds and the organisation.
The role is based in London.
Main Responsibilities
* Oversee and coordinate ESG reporting obligations at both fund and corporate levels, including SFDR and other relevant regulatory requirements.
* Support ESG aspects of new fund launches and contribute to the development of ESG- and impact-focused products.
* Assist in applying the firm’s proprietary ESG framework, including:
* Supporting ESG scoring of insurance-related investments.
* Taking ownership of ESG-related data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
* Ensuring harmonisation of scoring approaches across instruments and asset classes.
* Contributing to periodic updates and further development of the framework.
* Monitor ESG regulations and industry developments to maintain compliance and alignment with best practice.
* Coordinate and contribute to participation in PRI and other ESG-related groups and initiatives.
* Collaborate with internal teams to embed ESG considerations into investment, product, and operational processes.
* Support engagement and stewardship activities with multiple stakeholders.
* Assist in preparing ESG-related communications for clients and stakeholders.
Personal Attributes and Requirements
* Relevant experience in financial services, particularly in analytics or reporting, with an interest in ESG and sustainability.
* Motivation to develop expertise in insurance-related investments and apply ESG concepts within this field.
* Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate tasks across teams.
* Analytical mindset with attention to detail, and an interest in both qualitative and quantitative ESG data.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Basic understanding of insurance and insurance-related investments is advantageous.
* Fluency in English is required; additional European languages, particularly German, are beneficial.
* The right to work in the UK is required.
