About The Role/team
Following a recent promotion within the team, we're looking for a proactive and experienced Planned Works Senior Technician – Bathroom to support the delivery of our bathroom replacement and refurbishment programmes. You'll play a key role in overseeing day‑to‑day operations within the Bathroom Planned Works team, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Acting as the first point of contact for technicians, you'll provide guidance, resolve escalations, monitor productivity, and carry out regular site inspections to maintain quality and performance. You'll work closely with the Planned Works Manager and the Investment Admin team to ensure work is allocated effectively and that customer satisfaction remains consistently high.
This is a hands‑on role where your technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to excellent service will help us deliver great homes and great experiences for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for technicians, supporting them with queries, escalations, and problem‑solving
* Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with performance indicators, taking action where required
* Carry out scheduled repair work as needed
* Ensure prompt resolution of internal and external queries and complaints
* Monitor customer satisfaction and take action to meet or exceed expectations
* Support the Planned Works Manager in managing technician capability, performance, and standards of work
* Allocate and schedule work for technicians and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and efficiency
* Liaise effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and third‑party providers to enhance service delivery
* Use communication channels (phone, email, IT systems) effectively to support workflow
* Assist with project‑related tasks and operational planning
* Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring quality of work and addressing recall works immediately
* Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, risk assessments, and safe working practices
* Support the training, coaching, and motivation of team members
* Assist with annual performance reviews and target setting
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and value for money
* Support workload planning and evaluation of team and individual performance
* Carry out monthly vehicle and health & safety checks for technicians and subcontractors
Must Haves
What We're Looking For
* Extensive experience in trade maintenance, with the ability to carry out a range of repair work and advise others
* NVQ/BTEC or equivalent trade qualification
* Strong customer service experience, delivering high‑quality outcomes
* Ability to take ownership of issues and resolve them effectively
* Ability to review and improve processes to deliver business benefits
* General understanding of all trade works
* Proficiency in quality‑inspecting completed works
* Strong awareness of health & safety legislation and safe working practices
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Adaptable, flexible, and able to work on own initiative
* Strong time management skills
* Personal integrity and a collaborative team approach
* Full valid UK driving licence

* Experience managing employees and subcontractors, ideally within social housing
* NVQ/City & Guilds in Plumbing
* Understanding of internal and external customer needs
