We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our KierBam JV project at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth, Devon.
KierBam is a joint venture between Kier and Bam Nuttall, currently delivering a redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site.
Location: Site Based, Plymouth, Devon
Hours: Permanent, 45 hours per week
Responsibilities
As a Site Engineer, you'll support the Nuclear team in delivering the redevelopment project at the Dockyard. Your daily tasks will include:
1. Assisting in recording and testing workmanship and materials such as drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork, etc.
2. Providing engineering support to resolve technical problems and answer queries.
3. Setting out works within allowable tolerances.
4. Checking setting out points and benchmarks regularly, ensuring calibration certificates for instruments are recorded.
5. Maintaining setting out and dimensional control for accurate construction.
Candidate Requirements
This role is ideal if you:
* Possess a degree in civil engineering or equivalent (e.g., BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, or completed Higher Apprenticeship).
* Are familiar with Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Levels) for setting out and survey tasks.
* Have experience in a similar role.
Note: Due to security requirements at a high-security military naval base, BPSS security clearance is necessary, which may take up to 8 weeks. Candidates must hold EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG passports and have been UK residents for the last 5 years.
