Role: Specification Sales Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Specification Sales Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing new business and increasing sales of Carrier’s industry-leading HVAC portfolio, including Chillers, Heat Pumps & AHU’s. You will collaborate closely with M&E consultants, contractors, distributors, and end users to establish Carrier as the preferred specification partner.
What will I be doing as a Sales Engineer?
1. Develop specification sales in the South East England for the Carrier range of HVAC equipment including Chillers and Heat Pumps.
2. Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities, driving both equipment and service sales.
3. Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with M&E consultants, main contractors, distributors, and end users.
4. Work collaboratively with key account managers, vertical specialists, and the direct sales team to maximise market share.
5. Provide expert technical guidance throughout the sales cycle, ensuring solutions meet customer and project requirements.
6. Maintain consistent customer engagement, including site visits and technical meetings.
7. Manage reporting, forecasting, and project tracking through Salesforce CRM.
8. Monitor competitor activity and strategically position Carrier solutions within the market.
Requirements
9. Technical knowledge of HVAC industry, particularly hydronic chilled water, air, and heating applications.
10. Proven sales experience within the HVAC sector, working with installing contractors, M&E consultants & end user clients.
11. Experience of managing your own time and customers, setting targets and monitoring progress.
12. Presentation skills and ability to conduct meetings.
13. Ability to manage your own territory, pipeline, and customer relationships effectively.
14. Strong communication skills
15. UK Driving Licence
16. IT Literate with MS Office skills
