About The Role
We are seeking several HGV operatives to join us due to a large long‑term contract that Sapphire Utility Solutions have won. You will be driving one of our Class 2 vehicles and supporting with pre‑survey’s, CCTV and jetting of the drainage network. Ideally you will have drainage experience however training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* You will be operating a Class 2 vehicle (either a Cityflex or Recycler), ensuring vehicle checks are done prior to departing the site.
* You will be working closely with another Drainage Engineer to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.
* Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales.
* Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
* Operate high‑pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
* Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
* Competent in using an electronic device – laptop / tablet for data entry purposes.
* Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures.
Requirements
* A manual UK Drivers licence is mandatory with no more than 6 penalty points.
* Holding a Class 2 licence with a valid in date CPC.
* Experience is desirable however if you're looking to start your career within utilities full training will be offered.
* Excellent listening and communication skills.
* Competent in IT, accurate data entry.
* Team player.
* Positive, can‑do attitude.
