About Highways The Highways Service maintains one of the most valuable assets the Council owns, acting as a platform for social and economic prosperity. Enabling the undertaking of safe, reliable, and sustainable journeys while acting as the biggest Utility duct in the Borough as well as supporting emergency and response services. The Highways Service encompasses three integrated teams, Asset Management; Traffic Management & Compliance; and Performance, Programme and Innovation. Together they provide high quality and cost-effective highways and transportation management solutions, which are of real benefit to residents, business, and visitors to the borough, both now and into the future. About the role Working within the Asset Management Team, the postholder will play a key role in a highly motivated Highways Maintenance team, participating in the delivery of the effective and efficient Highways Maintenance function related to all drainage assets. The postholder will be required to assist the drainage team in maintaining the drainage asset in a safe condition within limited budgetary provision and to ensure compliance with the Highways Act 1980 and Land Drainage Act 1991.
