Overview
Senior Quantity Surveyor role at Gleeds – Sizewell C site-based project. Permanent, full-time with flexible hours and hybrid working. Location: Sizewell, Suffolk (mixture of home, office and client-site work).
Responsibilities
* Management of contracts from inception (pre-contract support such as tender evaluation) to completion (post-contract support).
* Operate with NEC forms of Contract such as Option A, B, C and E, plus bespoke forms of contract.
* Stakeholder engagement across a portfolio of projects.
* Issuing and reviewing early warning notices.
* Pricing and assessing compensation events.
* Monthly commercial reporting.
* Management of contractors' and subcontractors' accounts.
* Updating risk registers.
* Reviewing programmes.
* Issuing payment certificates and valuation of the works.
* Ensuring work is delivered to specification and cost targets.
Experience and qualifications
* Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management, ideally in the Nuclear, Civil engineering or related engineering sectors.
* Broad knowledge of procurement, supply chain, cost and commercial management; ideally experience across pre- and post-contract stages.
* Ideally HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or related discipline; or significant on-the-job experience from an alternative background (e.g., Engineering).
* Professional qualifications and/or membership of RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable and supported if not yet attained.
