Associate - Major Infrastructure Planning

Overview
We’re looking for an experienced and driven Associate to join our Major Infrastructure Planning Practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a capable individual with a strong background in project and programme management, and experience of successfully delivering Major Infrastructure consent and subsequent compliance requirements. In this role, you’ll provide technical leadership and project management support across a range of multidisciplinary projects for Major Infrastructure Planning projects, and you’ll develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the sector.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership and project management support across multidisciplinary Major Infrastructure Planning projects.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders in the sector.
* Lead and manage Major Infrastructure consent processes (including DCO/NSIP) and subsequent compliance requirements.
* Apply robust project and programme management practices to deliver complex work packages.
Qualifications
* Have a strong consultancy background, with a proven track record in DCO/NSIP planning and managing major project consent and subsequent compliance.
* Demonstrate experience of project and programme management, delivering Major Infrastructure consents, requirements, and complex multi-work package programmes.
* Possess robust technical skills in highways, transport, and traffic management projects, with detailed knowledge of highway design principles and technical approvals.
* Possess a strong grasp of stakeholder engagement strategies, with the ability to translate feedback into positive project results.
* Have a sound understanding of transport policy and current issues in the UK.
* Be capable of maintaining relationships with existing ITP public and private sector clients and identifying new commercial opportunities.
* Have a growing network of industry contacts and positive client referrals.
* Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, using a range of formats to convey complex ideas.
* Hold a relevant professional qualification such as Chartered Engineer or TPP (or equivalent).
* Contribute to the advancement of the profession and the broader industry by:
o Participating in professional associations, working groups, or industry forums.
o Sharing expertise through speaking engagements, publications, or thought leadership.
o Staying abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices.
o Supporting the development of industry standards or contributing to policy discussions.
o Mentoring peers or early-career professionals.
