Milk Education are recruiting for a proactive, energetic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream Primary School in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates looking to gain valuable school-based experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs).
You will play a key role in supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to engage in learning, develop confidence, and reach their full potential within a supportive classroom environment. This role is ideal for graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, youth work or SEND support.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Supporting pupils with SEND including ASC and SEMH within the classroom
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning
• Assisting the class teacher with differentiated activities and behaviour support strategies
• Encouraging positive engagement, emotional regulation, and independence
• Supporting with classroom preparation, interventions, and monitoring pupil progress
What We’re Looking For
• A graduate (any degree subject) with an interest in education or SEND
• Proactive, energetic and patient with a genuine passion for supporting young people
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience working with children or young people (school, tutoring, coaching, youth work or voluntary work) is desirable
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
