Overview

Registered Nursing Associate/Assistant Practitioner
Band 4 - Full time-37.5 hours per week - Permanent

The Tameside & Glossop District Nursing Service are recruiting a Band 4 Registered Nurse Associate. This is an opportunity to be part of an award-winning service and an integrated organisation. We are looking for a self-motivated, dynamic individual with a passion for community care.

You will work alongside a multi-skilled team of community nurses led by Specialist Practitioners in District Nursing, delivering nursing care to a diverse population within a variety of community settings. The District Nurse Team promotes wellbeing and independence and works with families, carers and other agencies.

You must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and the wider multidisciplinary workforce.


Responsibilities

The RNA will work as part of the Health and Social Care Team, be multiskilled and work across disciplines. They will provide planned care and take appropriate action to achieve the planned aims. The Assistant Practitioner will be proficient, competent and require minimum supervision. The role-specific higher technical/clinical skills will be enhanced through an induction programme during the first 6-12 months with supervised assessed competencies signed off by a registered professional.

Qualifications

* Essential: NMC registration OR Foundation degree in Health & Social care.


Experience

* Essential: Experience of working within a healthcare environment.
* Awareness of development needs to meet the role.


Skills & Knowledge

* Maintain accurate patient/nursing records.
* Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
* Provide care for patients following a designated care plan.
* Administer prescribed medications in accordance with role specification/job description.
* IT/Computer literacy.
* Willingness to undertake training required to carry out the job.
* Awareness of patient safety including safeguarding procedures.
* Willingness to abide by the Trust’s policies and procedures.


Personal Qualities

* Ability to travel to different locations within Tameside and Glossop.
