Lead Clinician – Claystone School
Claystone School, Bedfordshire – 4 days a week (Monday‑Friday 08:30am–04:30pm), 37.5 hours/week, £50,000‑£60,000 pro‑rata, permanent (full‑time). The role involves leading the school’s in‑house clinical team and delivering specialist therapy to pupils with autism and related neuro‑divergent needs.
Responsibilities
* Clinically lead the therapeutic team, coordinating caseloads, treatment plans and session delivery.
* Assess and intervene with pupils who present complex autism, developmental trauma and SEMH needs, ensuring compliance with EHCP plans.
* Provide supervision and support to therapy staff (Speech & Language, OT, therapy assistants).
* Develop and refine the school‑based clinical service in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team and the Regional Clinical Lead.
* Produce clear and concise clinical and research reports, maintaining professional documentation standards.
* Lead multi‑professional work by collaborating with teaching staff, psychologists, counsellors and external agencies.
* Support the growth of colleagues, apprentices and student therapists through mentoring and professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
* BSc or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy, OT or equivalent, with registration as a SaLT, HCPC and RCSLT.
* Active, up‑to‑date registration with a recognised professional body (e.g. BPS).
* Experience working with autistic individuals and/or complex neuro‑divergent groups.
* Clear‑written report‑writing skills and evidence of clinical research activity.
* Demonstrated ability to provide supervision and support to a therapy team.
* Independent working style, capable of managing a dynamic and growing clinical service.
* Preferred: experience in multi‑professional service delivery within the autism or neuro‑developmental sector.
