As a Barclays Production Engineer Analyst, you will join the Group Technology Service Management team within the Technology area. Your role will involve applying a hybrid of development and operation skills to collaborate across disciplines, utilizing software engineering principles to eliminate manual efforts (Toil) and develop automated, scalable, and reliable services.

We offer a hybrid working model that combines onsite presence with remote work. What will you be doing?
1. Providing high-quality application support across various applications within Markets GTSM to assist users and downstream consumers.
2. Developing technical knowledge of applications and supported businesses to deliver effective and efficient services.
3. Building and maintaining next-generation monitoring tools focusing on intelligent alerting within a business context.
4. Exhibiting excellence in all tasks and promoting this mindset throughout the department by improving processes and services.
5. Driving Full Stack Observability to help achieve objectives and reduce MTTR, serving as a role model in its use.
6. Contributing to automation initiatives to improve efficiency, consistency, and reduce MTTR.
7. Fostering technical excellence and accountability within the full stack of our services.
8. Implementing continuous service improvements to surpass business expectations.
What we’re looking for:
* Experience maintaining production environments with distributed systems and highly available services.
* Knowledge of Unix, databases (MSSQL, Oracle), middleware (MQ/Solace), networks, load balancers, storage, and Autosys batches.
* Familiarity with Observability/Monitoring solutions such as Geneos ITRS and AppDynamics.
* Ability to diagnose and resolve technical failures.
Skills that will help you in the role:
* Understanding of Financial Markets and the trade lifecycle.
* Ability to collaborate effectively in large teams to achieve goals.
* Experience setting up and maintaining monitoring tools.
* Experience with automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
