We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newport to assist with the appointment of an Caretaker, on a 6-weeks contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £12.60- £16.00 per hour
Summary:
The Caretaker will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the Gwent Music premises, including associated off-site storage facilities. This role includes opening and closing buildings, attending to emergency call-outs, performing basic maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Open and close the Gwent Music premises during evenings and weekends.
Maintain the security of the building by ensuring all doors and windows are properly locked.
Ensure proper operation of heating and lighting systems across the premises.
Maintain external areas by sweeping paths, picking litter, and removing debris.
Carry out basic repairs and maintenance around the premises.
Essential:
Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities assistant role is preferred.
Experience in handling security responsibilities and maintenance of premises.
Full UK driving license
General knowledge of building maintenance and basic repair tasks.
