Maths Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with an independent school in the Reading area to recruit a committed and knowledgeable Maths Teacher (QTS) for a September start. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well‑resourced and supportive school environment with smaller class sizes and a strong focus on tailored learning.
You will be responsible for delivering Maths across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils with a range of learning needs. The role focuses on building confidence, strengthening core numeracy skills, and ensuring pupils make meaningful academic progress through a personalised approach.
This position would suit both experienced teachers and confident ECTs looking to work in a more structured and supportive setting.
The Role:
1. Teach Maths across KS3 and KS4
2. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
3. Support pupils to develop numeracy skills and confidence
4. Assess work and monitor student progress
5. Maintain a structured and supportive classroom environment
6. Work collaboratively with support staff and wider teams
7. Promote positive behaviour and engagement
8. Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
9. Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
10. Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
11. Experience teaching at secondary level
12. Comfortable adapting lessons for a range of learning needs
13. Strong classroom management and organisational skills
14. Patient, flexible, and supportive teaching style
15. Suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs
Contract Details:
16. Position: Maths Teacher (QTS)

18. Start Date: September
19. Working Pattern: Full‑time
20. Pay Rate: £32,916 – £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
21. Key Stages: KS3-KS4
22. Setting: Independent School
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
23. QTS required
24. Secondary Maths teaching experience preferred
25. Experience in independent or specialist settings beneficial
26. Safeguarding training can be provided
