The Role
As a Despatch Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring that all conforming parts are prepared and shipped accurately and efficiently to customers. This involves carrying out visual inspections, checking route cards, x-ray reports, and test certificates to verify quality and compliance before packing parts for shipment. Once all successful checks are completed, you will carefully package the part and arrangement shipment to the customer.
The role also includes booking in sub-contract and purchased items, moving and managing a variety of inventory across the site, and scanning documentation into electronic archives. You'll operate a forklift to handle materials safely and efficiently, maintain internal documentation and procedures, and manage scrap or revert materials leaving the site. Additionally, you'll support alloy call-offs and ensure all shipments meet company and regulatory requirements.
