We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and nurturing team at a vibrant school. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The position begins in June 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
2. Assist in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.
3. Help implement strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
4. Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals.
5. Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and social development.
6. Support children with emotional regulation, sensory needs, or physical challenges as required.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
1. Experience working with children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, or SEMH.
2. A calm, caring, and flexible approach.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
5. A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) is desirable.
6. A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
