This full time, permanent position has become available due to recent project wins and continued growth across the business, marking an exciting period of expansion for the technical team.
The Role
An excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join a collaborative and high-performing team. You will be responsible for delivering civil engineering design and infrastructure for residential development schemes, working with the technical team, consultants, contractors and adopting authorities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring adoptable highway and drainage systems, external works, sustainable drainage (SuDS) and ground modelling are delivered to specification, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and develop detailed engineering designs for residential infrastructure (highways, drainage, external works) from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
* Manage adoptable highways and drainage systems, liaising with local authority adopting agencies (S38, S104, S278) and ensure compliance.
* Develop sustainable drainage (SuDS) solutions and integrate with wider design teams. Carry out ground modelling, cut & fill analysis and interface with geotechnical or site investigation outcomes.
* Provide external works design (paths, accessible routes, landscaping works) linked to the development. Coordinate and deliver drainage strategy planning, flood-risk assessment and management.
* Work collaboratively with internal site teams, contractors, design consultants and external stakeholders to ensure high quality outcomes.
* Maintain technical documentation, RFI (Request for Information) processes, CAD/BIM deliverables and quality assurance.
* Support junior engineers or assistants where appropriate and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
* Degree (BEng, BSc) in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or relevant experience in infrastructure design.
* Proven experience in residential infrastructure design, ideally in a consultancy or house-builder environment.
* Good working knowledge of S38, S104 and S278 agreements and working with adopting agencies.
* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage.
* Strong technical understanding of sustainable drainage, ground modelling and external works design.
* Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving mindset and ability to deliver to quality standards.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills – able to work across teams and with external stakeholders.
