Band 6 Maternity Unit Rotational Midwife

We are looking to recruit experienced band 6 midwives to join our team. If you are an experienced & NMC registered midwife who has an NMC PIN number and would like to make a difference to women and their families, then we would like to hear from you. This is a rotational role, and you will also be expected to work within community settings, including rotating across community midwifery areas.
Although this position is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process and finalise pre‑employment checks. The contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months.
Main duties of the job
* Provide a full range of health education, psychological support and social care advice to women, including preconception care where required and across various settings.
* Be responsible and accountable for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods for women and their babies.
* Act as a preceptor for newly qualified midwives and other staff while working autonomously within professional guidelines and scope of practice.
Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Registered Midwife, NMC registered.
* Evidence of professional development: NIPE course, mentorship qualification.
Skills / Abilities
* BFI training.
* Leadership skills.
Experience / Knowledge
* Experience with mentoring of student midwives and nurses.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
All new staff appointed at the Trust are subject to a probationary period.
Salary
£45,953 to £54,254 a year, inclusive and pro‑rata for part time.
