Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Educator Midwife Role (band 6) for the South Tees Maternity Services for a 6 month secondment. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Midwife, who is ready to progress in their career, and who has an interest in Clinical Education and Training within the Maternity Services. The successful post holder will work closely with the Band 7 Lead Clinical Educator, the MDT Education Team and the Patient Safety Team. The post will require an enthusiastic practitioner who will deliver clinical training programmes throughout the Maternity Services at South Tees, in order to facilitate a highly skilled and competent workforce. This is required to provide safe and effective care for women, babies and families.

Main duties of the job

1. To train and join the Obstetric Training team to facilitate the two -day obstetric emergency training programme and be part of the team rota.
2. To implement and facilitate timely and responsive training within the clinical areas, following identification of patient safety issues, individual staff requirements for supportive training, new changes in practice.
3. To access a Newborn Life Support Provider course, in order to be able to facilitate training.
4. To participate in skills drills in the clinical areas within all areas of the maternity services. This also includes liaising with other areas of the Trust, such as A&E.
5. To become part of the faculty team for the delivery of Maternal AIMS courses.
6. To be able to work flexibly, and manage your own workload.
