We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and committed Nursery Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Potters Bar, starting as soon as possible. As a Nursery Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality early years provision aligned with the EYFS framework. You will create a balance of structured and play-based learning experiences that support children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic development. Building strong relationships with children and families will be a central part of your role. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess engaging nursery lessons in line with the EYFS framework Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment Support children’s development across all areas of learning, including literacy, numeracy, and personal development Use observation and assessment to track progress and inform planning Differentiate activities to meet the needs of all children, including SEND and EAL Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years staff Build strong partnerships with parents and carers Maintain accurate learning journals, records, and assessments Contribute to EYFS planning, moderation, and whole-school initiatives Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an EYFS teaching qualification Have experience teaching in Nursery or Early Years Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic Have excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills Be creative, reflective, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing The school is located in Potters Bar, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
