You will work closely with parents and staff to ensure that we are offering the highest quality childcare the role of the Nursery Manager in a nursery is to provide excellent and strong leadership and management of the nursery and its staff and to successfully manage the day-to-day running of the nursery and deliver high-quality standards of care and education for all children.
You will be responsible for keeping clear and accurate records, specifically writing clear objective observations. You should have excellent planning, organisation, IT, and presentation skills.
Being a strong leader and excellent communicator are essential, as well as being able to motivate, manage and work productively within a team. Helping to identify training needs, develop training plans and evaluate training undertaken by staff.
Your responsibilities also involve recruiting, inducting, supporting, training, and appraisals all staff to ensure delivery of high-quality childcare practice. Along with working with and supporting parents, working with outside agencies, manage staff and running costs, facilitate inspections by regulatory bodies and implement any recommendations
Essential to your role is experience in the following:
* Minimum full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
* Designated Safeguarding Lead
* Safer Recruitment training
* Paediatric First Aid
* Food and Hygiene Level 2
* Minimum of 2 years recent experience of working in a Nursery/Preschool setting within a senior role i.e., Nursery Manager, Deputy Nursery Manager
* Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
* Excellent knowledge of the current Early Years Inspection Framework
* Thorough knowledge of and appreciation for child safeguarding and welfare
* Strong understanding of health and safety and practical hygiene issues
