Our SEN school, specialising in Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our exceptional team.
We are a supportive, nurturing, and inclusive specialist setting that caters for pupils with PMLD and a wide range of additional needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, complex medical needs, and communication challenges. Our team is committed to providing a highly personalised curriculum that enables every pupil to thrive, learn, and experience joy every day.
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide high‑quality support to students with complex physical, learning, and sensory needs
* Assist with implementing personalised learning plans and multi‑sensory activities
* Support students with communication systems such as PECS.
* Help with personal care routines, including feeding and toileting (full training provided)
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and specialist support staff
* Create a safe, calm, and encouraging learning environment
* Build warm and trusting relationships with pupils, showing patience, empathy, and resilience
We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds. Experience with PMLD is beneficial but not essential, attitude, compassion, and willingness to learn are what matter most.
You will ideally have:
* Experience in SEN or care settings (desired but not required), personal experience is a plus.
* A nurturing, calm, and patient approach
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Confidence supporting pupils with medical and personal care needs
* A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
