Job Description About Me I am a 41-year-old man living with a C5 complete spinal cord injury following a car accident. I live with my partner and my rescue dog, Marty, who is a big part of my life. Before my injury, I was very active and enjoyed playing sports, particularly football. I loved running, cycling, spending time outdoors, and going to the gym most evenings after work. I also took pride in my career and the work I did. While my life has changed, I still enjoy socialising, going to the pub when I’m feeling up to it, and taking part in a good pub quiz. Family and friends are extremely important to me, and I value having people around me. As a result of my spinal cord injury, I have significantly reduced sensation in my limbs, meaning I may not always perceive touch, pressure, or temperature. I experience frequent and sometimes unpredictable muscle spasms, which can be uncomfortable and may require a few moments for me to manage and regain control. I also have limited balance and can be prone to falling forward, so care and vigilance during transfers are essential.
