Doncaster Council is currently recruiting Waking Night Officers to join their Children’s Residential Homes supporting children and young people with disabilities and complex care needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide stability, safety and reassurance to children and young people who rely on consistent and compassionate care.
This is a part time position for 21 hours per week offering a salary of £28132 Pro Rata with enhanced rates for any over time worked. You will receive your rota well in advance and are guaranteed 2 weekends off out of 4. Opportunities for additional daytime shifts may be offered to support training and integrated working across the home.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing a warm, caring and enabling environment
Discreetly overseeing young people at regular intervals throughout the night
Ensuring the home remains safe and secure
Liaising with agencies such as Police and social care if required
Completing paperwork and maintaining children’s records
General housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry and ironing
Following shift plans and completing allocated tasks
Working independently, with the support of a sleeping-in colleagueWhat We’re Looking For
A caring and sensitive approach to supporting children and young people
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Basic IT skills
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Flexibility to cover additional shifts where required
