Grade 10, £45,091 - £49,282 per annum.

37 hours per week

Temporary for 12 months

Your role:
As Bereavement Services Manager you will play a key role in delivering a high standard burial and cremation service across the Borough.

you will manage the day-to-day deployment of all employees within the service including the grave digging teams, cemetery/crematorium attendants and back-office support staff.

You will develop a culture that is compassionate, responsive and aligns with our Team Wigan behaviours and our Progress with Unity Missions.

You will lead by example and motivate others to work to collective goals and actively seek ways to improve the service, suggesting new ways of

working and embracing change.

About you:
You will have knowledge and experience in leading an operational organisation or similar environment.

You will have a management qualification, such as, CMS, NVQ 3 / 4 and a Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH or be able to demonstrate this through knowledge and experience.

You will be able to work well both independently and as part of a team in a flexible manner in order to meet deadlines and service demands.

It is also important that you have good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with both colleagues and members of the public.

You must be able to demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills together with the ability to deal with management, workforce, members of the public and external organisations.
