Job description:
The Marketing Executive; is directly responsible for delivering multi- media direct marketing, advertising and sales across Ocean’s growing portfolio of housing exhibitions and conferences. The successful candidate will work with event producers and the delegate, exhibition and customer service teams, to ensure all conferences and exhibitions hit their delegate sales, exhibition and visitor targets, and with production and sales colleagues to ensure that sponsorship targets can be met. This role requires excellent organisational, project management and communication skills, as well as good attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce high quality work within deadlines.
Expertise should include execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including creating websites and digital campaigns; brand development; list development/curation; segmentation and targeting; outstanding writing skills; strong organisational skills; the ability to manage a budget; strong commitment to evaluation to inform continuous improvement and campaign effectiveness, and a commitment to fully understanding the target customer.
Job duties & responsibilities:
Campaign Management
* Implementing detailed direct marketing tailored for each event to reach the target delegate/visitor numbers and spex revenues
* Creating and managing campaign schedules to ensure all deadlines are met
* Collaborating frequently with production on the creation of on point messaging, branding and content to effectively communicate the conference value proposition across all channels
* Keeping sales tools such as media packs and presentations up to date
* Working with outside media and organisations to negotiate contract’s and book advertising.
* Managing fulfilment of marketing timeline
* Managing fulfilment of direct mail and e-mail, as well as social-media initiatives
* Managing fulfilment of contra agreements and partnerships
* Oversee the expansion of the marketing database in line with the growth expectations for the business
* Management of databases and list development: curating lists of desirable target attendees in different segments, working with the digital team on how we develop this data
* Develop and manage marketing budgets and oversee contracts and vendors as necessary
* Building long term partnerships with key industry marketing partners and associations
* Perform any other duties as commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility
Planning and Analysis
* To produce marketing plans to attract the maximum number of delegates/visitors to our conferences and exhibitions within agreed budgets
* Assesses, monitors and improves marketing efficiency by conducting regular analysis of marketing KPI's, reporting on campaign results to elevate success
* Embrace the culture of testing and change to continuously drive improvement
* Work closely with colleagues in other areas of the housing portfolio to maximize cross marketing opportunities at our own events, within publications, and e-communications.
Digital Marketing;
* Working alongside the digital agency to determine and drive the strategy to increase the quality and quantity of traffic to event websites through search engine optimisation and PPC
* Determining and implementing the social media strategy for our target audiences
* Developing and implementing highly effective social and digital campaigns for conferences and awards events
* A digital approach to promoting event content that leads to delegate and sponsorship sales
* Assesses, monitors and improves marketing efficiency by reporting on campaign results to elevate success and identifies the optimum allocation of budget across digital channels to generate delegate sales
Reporting;
* Production and circulation of campaign activity, performance, and effectiveness reports
* Conducts and reports on weekly trading/status meetings to the wider team and in project meetings
* To produce delegate/visitor and sponsor post event analysis and evaluate media effectiveness
* Timely production of post-show reports and ad hoc reports for meetings and presentations
Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Behaviour Skills:
* A successful track record of planning and implementing integrated marketing campaigns
* Sound knowledge of database segmentation
* Proven digital marketing experience ideally in events related activity
* Knowledge of marketing technology solutions and products
* “Digital marketing” competence, specifically, email expertise, targeting a mobile oriented audience, integrated social media, (understanding of the platforms and their reach), and the use of PPC and SEO as part of an audience development campaign
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Solid understanding of marketing strategy and how this is applied to events
* Analysing and reporting on marketing metrics, using findings to improve current campaigns
* Literate and numerate with good communication and copywriting skills
* A good level of IT/computer skills including knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* A broad understanding of website CMSs to control copy/image changes
* Energetic, enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work as team player
* Hard working and honest with a ‘can do attitude’
* Ability to meet deadlines and work comfortably under pressure, managing multiple projects
