Job Purpose/Objectives of a Transport Operations Planner Managing the allocation and precise planning of transport resources to ensure the efficient operation of cranes and associated equipment for customer projects. Ensuring strict compliance with the fleet maintenance schedule and guarantees that human resource planning is safe and legally compliant with operating license obligations. The position also supports the Head of Transport by completing tasks according to the established work program and instructions. Key Responsibilities: To ensure the accurate completion of the Transport Daybook Accurate receipt, processing, and allocation of Customer requests Maintenance of D365 work orders, their allocation to Drivers and issuing of correct job instructions, ensuring resources are accounted for correctly Identifying where rehire Transport resources are required, liaising with, and booking of approved suppliers To schedule the daily movements of company vehicles within the relevant driver's hours and VSO/STGO regulations Working in conjunction with the Head of Transport and Workshop Manager ensuring that the scheduling of vehicles and trailers for planned maintenance/repairs is adhered to in line with Operating Licence undertakings Responsible for the accurate planning of vehicle payloads in line with relevant legislation Auditing of vehicles in line with Brand Guidelines and Company Policy, investigation, and reporting non-compliance Ensuring communication with drivers is timely, accurate and two way Identifying delays and issues and promptly communicating reasons and resolutions to the Customer To wear the issued PPE & uniform always as required and directed by the company H&S policy To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by your manager Transport Operations cover working 1 in 4 weekends and rota out of hour Person specification Education/Knowledge/Experience Experience of crane transport support operations Experience of using IT systems Full UK Driving Licence Experience of compiling reports and carrying out accident and failure investigation (desirable) CE / Class 1 HGV Licence (desirable) Transport Managers CPC (desirable) Experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Dyno Rent (desirable) Skills/Abilities Customer focused Ability to work on own initiative and with others as part of a team An effective communicator able to liaise with various internal and external contacts Able to think through challenges logically and calmly to resolution Flexible with regards to working hour Behaviours · Work in line with the company's Vision & Values: Always make the safe choice; Reliable; Easy to deal with; Teamwork; Open to new ideas; Passionate
