A well-established, specialist construction and property consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Birmingham team. This opportunity would suit a Project Manager who is comfortable delivering technically complex schemes and is happy working in a hybrid model. The successful Project Manager will work predominantly from the Birmingham office two days per week, and will also be required to travel to London approximately once per week to support project delivery and client requirements.
This consultancy has a strong pipeline of remediation and building safety projects coming forward, particularly across residential and mixed-use assets. Due to this growing workload, they are now looking to appoint a Project Manager who can take ownership of projects and support the successful delivery of these schemes.
The Project Manager Role
The appointed Project Manager will be responsible for delivering remediation projects from early instruction through to completion. Projects will often involve occupied buildings, multiple stakeholders and detailed compliance requirements, requiring a Project Manager who is organised, client-facing and technically aware.
This role offers the Project Manager the opportunity to work on meaningful remediation projects while maintaining flexibility through a hybrid working arrangement.
Duties of the Project Manager to include:
Leading the day-to-day delivery of remediation projects as the appointed Project Manager
Managing projects from feasibility, design and procurement through construction and handover
Coordinating consultant teams, contractors and specialist advisors
Acting as the main point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
Managing project programmes, risk registers and reporting requirements
Overseeing compliance with building safety, fire safety and statutory regulations
Chairing project, design team and site meetings
Monitoring contractor performance against programme, cost and quality targets
Managing risks, issues and change control proactively
Supporting stakeholder engagement, including residents where required
The Person?
The successful Project Manager will have experience delivering construction or remediation projects and will be comfortable working across multiple locations. The Project Manager will ideally demonstrate:
Proven experience working as a Project Manager within construction or consultancy
Experience on remediation, refurbishment or building safety projects is advantageous
Strong understanding of construction processes and compliance requirements
Confidence working in a client-facing role
Willingness and flexibility to travel to London on a regular basis
Strong organisational and communication skills
A proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach
Working towards, or already holding, a relevant professional qualification such as RICS or APM
