My client, a forward-thinking, highly-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Principal Highway Designer to join their experienced team of engineering technicians in the exciting, culturally-diverse Capital City of London.
Essential Criteria:
1. Extensive experience of working in a highways design role
2. Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
3. Experience of Civils3D, and other relevant software packages
4. Good knowledge of the relevant design and infrastructure guidance and specifications, including Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Manual for Streets (MfS), LTN 1/20, etc.
5. Working knowledge of the application of Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, and the Traffic Signs Manual
6. Good understanding of the relevant Section Agreements (S38, S278)
7. Knowledge of SPONS Civil Engineering and Highway Works
It would also benefit applicants for the role of Principal Highway Designer to possess the following skills:
– Hold a formal professional qualification (such as EngTech, Ieng, CEng)
– Have ICE/CIHT/CILT membership

8. Producing technical reports, including site access appraisals, Road Safety Audit briefs, and S278 Design Check Submissions

11. Working with a team of colleagues, providing the appropriate leadership and mentorship
