NPI Engineer
Salary: £50,000–£55,000
Location: South Cambridgeshire
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced NPI Engineer to join a well-established and innovative engineering business developing complex, high-reliability scientific instruments. The company takes products from early development through to full-scale manufacture and operates within highly regulated environments.
This is a fantastic role for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and quality, playing a key role in ensuring new products are introduced into production efficiently, reliably, and at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead New Product Introduction activities from development through to production
Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to industrialise new products
Translate designs into robust, repeatable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes
Develop and validate assembly processes, tooling, fixtures, and test methods
Drive DFM/DFA and process risk assessments
Analyse build data and production metrics to improve yield and performance
Skills & Experience Required:
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
Strong experience in New Product Introduction, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering
Proven background taking products from development into production
Solid understanding of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing process development
Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly and test processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
