Job Description
From satellites searching for new planets to rovers mapping Mars, Teledyne e2v has supported space missions for over 40 years, providing technology that is out of this world. We design and deliver imaging sensors and sub-systems for over 150 space missions, aiding humankind's understanding of our world.

We manufacture high-performance CCD, CMOS, and IR sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high-energy physics, with facilities in Chelmsford (UK) and Grenoble (France).
Currently, Teledyne e2v is engaged in large-scale, multi-year projects that significantly increase operational demands, including solutions at the focal plane level, mechanical assembly, cryogenics, and electronics.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
We are seeking a Project Manager with drive and commitment to strengthen our project management team. You will manage strategic R&D and customer-funded projects, improving management and governance processes.
You will quickly take charge of existing projects, delivering products to customers and achieving revenue goals by leading a cross-functional team of 10+ engineers and technical staff. The role is product-centric and includes managing other projects and bid activities.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Managing cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
2. Applying effective project management techniques and ensuring adherence to processes.
3. Leading by example, mentoring junior staff, and motivating your team to meet targets.
4. Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and goal alignment.
5. Scheduling projects in Microsoft Project and updating the MS Project Server system.
6. Organizing Phase Gate Reviews and ensuring timely execution.
7. Managing project scope, documentation, and communication with all stakeholders.
8. Identifying and resolving risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
9. Collaborating with Finance to monitor budgets and analyze relevant data.
10. Creating project dashboards and presenting status reports to senior leadership monthly.
11. Working with Business Development, Engineering, and Program Directors on technical and commercial solutions.
12. Contributing to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
1. Experience managing projects throughout their lifecycle, especially in production.
2. A proven track record of energizing teams to meet critical deadlines.
3. Skills in managing customer expectations and controlling scope creep.
4. Knowledge of risk management strategies.
5. Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities.
7. Good judgment on when to own, brief, or escalate issues.
8. Proficiency in project management tools like MS Project and MS Project Server; familiarity with SAP is a plus.
