About the role:
The Deals Indirect Tax (ITX) team is one of a number of specialist teams which sits within Deals Tax working across the full spectrum of Deals Tax services offered. Whilst team members work across the various core areas ( Real Estate, B&A, BRS, and PE Backed companies) to ensure a breadth of development they will typically focus on one area to build up their specialism. This role is for a Senior Associate focusing on Real Estate advisory.
Key Responsibilities:
1. VAT advisory and consultancy assignments for Real Estate clients and PE backed portfolio companies
2. Performing ITX Due Diligence reviews which involve looking at existing and potential ITX issues, VAT compliance and ITX risks for clients wishing to sell / acquire businesses and assets.
3. Review financing and sale agreements for VAT restructuring.
4. Providing VAT structuring and restructuring advice to help clients operate their business in the most appropriate manner.
5. Delivering bespoke ITX advice, working closely with Deals Tax to best service our clients needs.
6. Pre and Post deal services, including assisting clients with pre acquisition structuring,
7. Implementing VAT efficient strategies and VAT compliance support to support Real Estate clients.
The skills and experience we are looking:
8. You will have Indirect Tax technical and analytical skills
9. You will need a flexible approach to allow you to work as part of a number of client/transaction teams simultaneously.
10. You will have experience of developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internally.
11. You will need strong analytical skills and a proven ability to solve complex problems in a collaborative and creative way.
12. You will have experience of project managing and delegating work within a team context, with excellent communication skills.
13. You will have a focus on self-development and in the development of others in your teams.
