Assistant Finance Accountant
Client: BAE Systems
Location: Glascoed, South Wales
Duration: 12 months
Hourly Rate: £16.27 PAYE
Working Arrangements: 1-2 days per week in the office
The Opportunity
This role will support core finance operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial control within a complex manufacturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute within a high-performing finance function supporting critical defence programmes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support month-end close activities including journals, accruals, and prepayments
2. Assist in preparation of management accounts and financial reports
3. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
4. Support budgeting and forecasting processes
5. Assist with audit requirements and financial compliance activities
6. Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies
7. Work collaboratively with operational stakeholders to support cost control
About You
8. Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by experience
9. Experience in a manufacturing or complex corporate environment desirable
10. Strong Excel and financial systems knowledge (e.g. SAP advantageous)
11. Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills
12. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
