The Role
We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team, focusing on maximising uptime for production machinery through proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns. You’ll ensure seamless operations across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Execute and enhance the preventative (PPM) and reactive maintenance programme for production and ancillary equipment.
*
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic breakdowns promptly, prioritising production needs.
*
Assist operators with machine setup, adjustments, and routine strip-down/cleaning procedures.
*
Maintain compliance with food hygiene standards (e.g., machinery cleanliness, line organisation).
*
Identify and propose continuous improvements for equipment reliability and processes.
*
Accurately document maintenance activities and communicate technical issues affecting production.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills & Experience:

Multi-skilled background with strong mechanical/electrical abilities (fault-finding, repairs, pneumatics).
*
Proven experience in FMCG, food, beverage, or packaging production environments.
*
Proficiency in PPM scheduling and breakdown response within manufacturing.
*
Practical technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
*
Filling/packaging machinery experience (highly desirable).
*
Understanding of electrical testing (e.g., multimeters, safety protocols).
*
GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent).
*
NVQ Level 3/BTEC or relevant experience in Engineering.
*
IT literacy and clear written/verbal communication.
